Job Description
Job responsibilities will include working as part of a team of engineers, chemists, and technicians providing support to NASA while maintaining a strong consciousness about safety. This position will directly support the International Space Station (ISS) as well as all future exploration missions relating to Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS). The work encompasses duties and responsibilities for maintaining life support systems aboard the ISS, discovering methodologies for making existing

more efficient, and for troubleshooting and correcting anomalous phenomena aboard the ISS.
The successful candidate will:
Support writing test protocols, conduction of tests, test stand build-ups, and interpretation and reporting of test results.
Work with project level and flight system engineers as they define their operational requirements, system performance, configuration, component selection, safety, and quality before and during the testing phases.
Support test stand wiring and LabVIEW software design, development, electrical and programmatic troubleshooting, and documentation.
Develop automated test software using LabVIEW.Write LabVIEW code to manipulate and analyze acquired data, including signal processing, filtering, statistical calculations, and serial communication.
Provide hands on support for wiring needs within the Environmental Control and Life Support Systems groupCollaborate with engineers and scientists to define electrical and software requirements and improve system functionality.
Integrate LabVIEW software with various hardware systems and components, including data acquisition (DAQ) devices, sensors, actuators, and other control systems.
Troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues.
Document comprehensive software development processes including system architecture, code comments, user manuals, and test procedures.
Job Requirements:
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required. A degree from an ABET accredited university is preferred. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D. with a minimum 4 years of experience; MS with at least 8 years of experience, or a BS with at least 10 years of experience.
Candidate is required to have:
Extensive knowledge of wiring and electronics.
Experience with the build-up and disassembly of test stands.
Must have at least 5 years of experience programming systems in LABVIEW.Must have at least 2 years of knowledge of thermalfluid components, systems, and associated instrumentation.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electronic schematics and a solid understanding of circuit functionsAbility to assemble, debug, and troubleshoot new electronic designs.
Knowledge of Mechanical design for modeling of specialized test articles, test stands, and test support equipment with respect to fluid and thermal components.
Preferred Skills:
CLD or CLA Certification in LABVIEW Programming.
At least 2 years of experience with the RS232 and RS485 serial protocolsA working knowledge of Aerospace flight system component testing and test stands.
A passion for writing self-documenting code designed to meet the requirements and be easily maintained.
