Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to join our team in Cape Canaveral, FL!
In this role, you will provide Test Engineering to the FBM program operations at Eastern Range (ER) test facilities. You will support all areas of testing at Cape and at the launch processing facilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • You will perform and maintain Certified Test Conductor status.
  • You will support the development process for Mechanical support equipment from deosing requirements into system test solutions that support technical, schedule and cost constraints, through eventual product sell-off and delivery.
  • You will plan, implement, test, document, and maintain solutions for the integration and testing of onents, elements, subsystems and/or systems.
  • You will review, evaluate and derive requirements for testability, develop and direct preparation and execution of rehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for lete systems and/or subsystems.
  • You will create and update instructions and procedures using proprietary software.
  • You will perform integration and testing of Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile and support equipment.
    The successful candidate must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access, and this position will require a government security clearance.
    Desired skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/ined education.
  • Willingness and ability to work with general direction and meet day to day testing and integration objectives.
  • Previous FBM background.
  • Previous Test or shop experience (examples: hands on repair, auto mechanic, welding, equipment operations, machine shop, auto body /paint, etc).
  • Experience with COTS equipment and system integration, Mechanical troubleshooting and design.
  • Knowledge of the latest Test and Measurement Equipment (T&ME) and techniques preferred.
  • Working knowledge of automation framework.

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 – $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
