The primary role for this candidate will be to support the Class 3/PPE Support equipment team on the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. The individual will report through the Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) Department. In this role the engineer will design and develop Class 3/PPE new designs as well as update existing equipment designs to support the facility needs. The candidate will be responsible to design, draft & release all applicable documentation associated with the assigned project. The engineer will have the opportunity to engage with Suppliers and senior engineers within the MGSE department in order to develop & improve the technical design Travel may be requested to support vendor visits or training. The candidate may be called on to support tasks outside of Class 3/PPE team as required for

program success.

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Familiarity with CREO or similar CAD tool (SolidWorks, I
  • DEAS, etc)
  • Design experience including interpreting design drawing, drafting & design
  • Understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals including structures, materials and analysis.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Desired Skills:
  • Experience with EPDM management tool
  • FBM knowledge and/or experience
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team
  • based environment
  • Good communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence or similar innovative/digital transformation tools

Remote Telework:

The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

  • Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
