Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage the daily activities of engineers, designers, and technicians. This role acts as a mentor, facilitator, and educator to foster cross-training, creativity, teamwork, and smooth process flow. The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical leadership, manage multiple activities, and ensure consistency with schedule and target dates. Additionally, this role includes resource planning, budgeting, communication with management and customers, and managing product documentation and the engineering change process. Responsibilities Manage the daily activities of engineers, designers, and technicians. Mentor, facilitate, and educate engineering personnel to foster cross-training, creativity, teamwork, and smooth process flow. Select and assist in recruiting technically qualified engineering personnel as needed to support workload. Provide and organize training for newly hired personnel. Provide leadership, including resource planning, budgeting, and communication to management and customers. Provide technical leadership to team engineers, designers, and technicians. Manage multiple activities and workload consistently with schedule and target dates. Review customer specifications and generate, review, and approve internal specifications. Manage product documentation for customers and compliance agencies. Manage the engineering change process. Act as primary contact for product line engineering support to operations. Essential Skills 3D Design Experience Electro Mechanical Manufacturing Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with motor design, including brushless motors Project management skills Work Environment The work environment is onsite, Monday to Friday, 9-5. Time will be spent within the engineering section of the facility as well as on the production floor and in the testing area. This role offers the opportunity to mentor engineers in a highly innovative space-based organization and provides face time with some of the biggest players in the space industry.
