1094116 job summary: We are seeking a driven Lead Aerospace Design & Stress Engineer to lead a team in designing and substantiating transport-category aircraft products from concept through certification. You’ll oversee mechanical design and stress modeling, guide cross-functional teams, participate in certification processes (STC/PMA/OPP), and ensure product integrity, safety, and compliance. With a strategic mindset, soild leadership skills, and deep experience in aerospace standards, you’ll drive innovation, mentor engineers, and support key program milestones in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Miami, Florida job type: Permanent salary: $120,000 – 140,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Lead design and stress engineers in developing models, drawings, and FAA-acceptable substantiation documentation Define, assign, monitor, and control work packages across the design lifecycle Participate in Integrated Program Teams to design, substantiate, and implement robust solutions Support change management, milestone meeting preparations, and bid development Drive standards for drawings, analyses, test plans, and data management tools and processes Mentor engineers, lead trade studies, support MRB activities, and travel as needed for aircraft surveys Skills Needed Leadership acumen with critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, and sound business judgment Proficient in 3D modeling and drafting (preferably SolidWorks) and familiarity with
FEMAP/NASTRAN
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to coach others and collaborate across functions Requirements Bachelor of Science in Engineering (or related field) with 10+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience Proven expertise in transport-category aircraft airframe, systems, and interior design, including STC development (PMA/OPP a plus) Experience leading mechanical design and stress teams developing models, drawings, and substantiation documentation Solid understanding of FAA certification processes, including STC, PMA, and OPP Willingness to travel frequently for surveys, installation, troubleshooting, and client engagements
