Summary:
Assist MEs with technical tasks including collecting, formatting, and managing engineering data and design changes. Create and maintain accurate engineering documentation such as reports, marking files, flow charts, block diagrams, schematics, and machine operation procedures. Serve as a liaison between engineering and production teams, helping troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on the floor. Review and adjudicate EODIs (Engineering Order Discrepancy Investigations) and production support requests. Update and maintain work instructions based on engineering drawings/models; collaborate with MEs for final approvals. Support MEs with Qnotes and EODIs by inputting and managing relevant planning, routing, and status information. Participate in Performance Management Teams (PMT) and assist in implementing Lean principles and process improvements. Maintain shop aids and assist with the setup, programming, and upkeep of assembly equipment. Work closely with the Wire Cut area to troubleshoot, optimize, and improve machine operations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training sufficient for basic calculations, assembly tasks, and computer operations. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher). Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience with cable/harness production and interpreting mechanical/electrical schematics. Familiarity with mechanical, pneumatic, and power tools. Experience using cable wire cutter and stripper machines. Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Desired Skills:
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing support role. Experience creating engineering instructions and visual aids. Familiarity with Zuken software. Experience using SAP (Qnotes, routings, BOMs) or similar systems. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and process improvement techniques. Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
