Job Summary Provide advanced mechanical engineering services in support ofeither the operation and maintenance of campus facilitiesmechanical systems and utilities or systems and equipmentassociated with research efforts within an academic or researchunit or laboratory. Provide work and project direction to otherengineers and technical personnel. This position will interact on aconsistent basis with: facilities management and utilitiespersonnel or research management and faculty; co-workers, vendors,suppliers and contractors. This position typically will advise andcounsel: facilities or lab management.
This position willsupervise:

- Lead in the design, installation and testing of mechanical systemsand components. Job Duty 2
- Develop engineering project schedules and make workassignments. Job Duty 3
- Conduct analyses of mechanical system performance; prescribecorrective action where required. Job Duty 4
- Develop plans and specifications for mechanical systems andcomponents. Job Duty 5
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems; may involve oversight ofcalibration and repair work. Job Duty 6
- Prepare drawings, schematic diagrams and related documentationassociated with mechanical components and systems. Job Duty 7
- Manage project engineering budgets.

- Interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues Job Duty 9
- Conduct project reviews for conformance to quality standards andcompliance. Job Duty 10
- Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentcombination of education and experience Required Experience Six to eight years of job related experience Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities SKILLS This job requires advanced application of mechanical engineeringprinciples, processes and practices; application of regulations,codes and safety practices associated with mechanical systems;project management; utilization of basic and advanced computerapplications including those specific to areas of responsibility;communications.
