The Role The R D Continuous Improvement team requires a n experiencedSenior Engineer to play a critical role in driving both productenhancements and process improvements within our Digestive Healthportfolio and manufacturing operations. This position will focus onidentifying opportunities for improvement, implementing leanmanufacturing principles, and ensuring compliance with industryregulations. This candidate must possess strong technicalleadership skills, with deep understanding and working experiencein design controls, PDP, requirements writing and management, andidentifying customer unmet needs. This candidate is expected tostrategize, formalize, and lead the execution of technical plansfor both product and process improvements. The candidate willestablish and maintain a relationship with our manufacturing sitesand support plant personnel in the implementations of new orupgraded manufacturing processes, as well as lead technical aspectsof new product commercialization. Job Roles and Responsibilities Identify and analyze product/process inefficiencies and developstrategies for improvement. Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigmamethodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuousimprovement initiatives and project timelines. Present technical and project updates to senior leadership in aclear and effective manner. Provide technical expertise and leadership in the planning andimplementation of projects to improve product design andmanufacturing processes. Develop protocols, test methods, and verification andvalidation strategies for all relevant product and/or processimprovements. Mentor junior staff on continuous improvement tools andtechniques. Willing to travel up to 30% at times. Qualifications Required Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, or a related field with 7+ years of relevantexperience or Master’s degree preferred with 5+ years of relevantexperience Proven experience of taking concepts from prototype to productlaunch Experience in writing and managing technical requirements andspecifications and translating requirements to verification andvalidation strategies, testing, and execution Working knowledge of design controls (FDA 21 CFR 820.30) andmedical device quality management systems (ISO 13485) Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigmamethodologies.
