We are currently seeking afull-time Senior Mechanical Engineer at our Atlanta, GA orJacksonville, FL office. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you willlead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer formoderate to complex projects, and lead design efforts with limitedsupport required from senior staff for the delivery of larger andhigh complexity projects. They will work closely with a team ofengineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineeringsolutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes.

Primary responsibilities will include project management,engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight ofmechanical systems for the vertical building industry. Additionalresponsibilities will include working within the project’s monetarybudget, assisting in training and mentoring efforts, andcollaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals andclient expectations.

Principal Responsibilities Coordinate, oversee and manage projects ranging in size andcomplexity Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with designscopes of work and fee calculations for proposal generation as wellas with contract reviews Create project schedules including targets for milestones anddeadlines Serve as the point of contact for teams and clients Create monthly billings and submit financial information toAccounting in a timely manner. Update billing projections andestimated completion percentage for all projects monthly Ensure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEGstandards and code requirements. Ensure design milestonedeliverables are achieved, IMEG and client quality controlprocesses are completed, and construction technical support occursin a timely manner Collaborate with design staff and coordinate scheduling ofprojects during all phases of design and construction. Schedule andlead progress meetings and provide meeting documentation. Conduct construction site visits and provide documentation asneeded or requested Respond to and resolve client / construction concerns. Managechange orders and obtain appropriate approvals Train, mentor, and motivate staff Build, maintain, and develop client relationshipsSkills Demonstrated leadership traits in the project management careerpath; ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline Mastery of technical and analytical skills includingproficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heattransfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC,plumbing and fire protection systems Ability to perform final quality control check in their area ofexpertise Ability to sell work and develop client relationships Strong training and mentoring skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability toclearly communicate in both oral and written communication toindividuals or groups Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Eagerness to adapt to new challenges Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited toWord, Excel, and Outlook Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnightstaysEducation and Experience Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, orequivalent, required Professional Engineer (PE) License required 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in thebuilding design consulting industry This position is not eligible for SponsorshipIMEG, anemployee-owned corporation, is committed to investing in employees’futures through professional development programs and opportunitiesfor career advancement.
