Mechanical Project Engineer (Contract) – Plaquemine, LA A leading chemical manufacturing company is hiring a Mechanical Project Engineer on a contract basis for an onsite role in Plaquemine, LA. This urgent position involves hands-on involvement in capital projects within a dynamic industrial setting.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support capital projects from initial design to commissioning Perform piping stress analysis and determine appropriate pipe sizing Develop and evaluate design documents, including PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specs Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to troubleshoot and execute projects Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety departments
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial or chemical plant environments Expertise in piping design, stress analysis, and process equipment Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards Must be available to start immediately and work fully onsite This contract role offers the chance to contribute directly to impactful capital projects within a skilled and supportive engineering team.
