POSITION

: Staff Engineer, Device Testing

POSITION DESCRIPTION

: Takeda Development Center Americas, Inc. isseeking a Staff Engineer, Device Testing with the following duties:develop test methods and test method validation protocols andperform testing at the Device Design and Testing Lab; may helptransfer test methods to external laboratories during all stages ofcombination product development; set up, operate, and validate testequipment and perform test method qualifications by followingstandard operating procedures; support overall test laboratoryactivities, including test development, gage R&R studies,coordination of stability studies and tests, calibration, andpreventive maintenance of test equipment; provide input to thedesign of fixtures for new experiments, tooling, equipment, andspecifications; establish and foster collaborative relationshipswith internal device and combination product development andquality teams as well as external test equipment development andtesting partners and service providers; support investigations ofout-of-spec test results and deviations; and participate andinteract on project teams. Up to 5% domestic travel required.

REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, MaterialsEngineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field, plus 2 yearsof related experience.

Prior experience must include:

analyze datato determine experimental significance and make recommendations forfuture steps based on this and develop methods for testing andcharacterizing devices and materials; assess applicability of newlaboratory equipment and coordinate installation, calibration andmaintenance; establish and foster collaborative relationships withinternal teams as well as external vendors, consultants, testingpartners and service providers; create medical device andlaboratory documentation such as SOPs; manage projects includingthe preparation of timelines and scheduling and perform advancedstatistical analysis including Design of Experiments and GageR&R. Full time. $111,800 to $191,600 per year. Competitivecompensation and benefits.
