This position reports to
R D Department Lead
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with R D development teams, NA lab teams and external clients to provide testing and verification of low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment. Typical equipment includes switchgears, switchboards, motor control centers, outdoor breakers, reclosers and cutouts. You will also drive continuous improvement to safety, quality, and productivity NA R D labs.
The work model for the role will be on-site in Mebane, NC. #LI-Onsite
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Supporting R D teams to develop type test strategies and detail test plans for new products.
  • Leading and managing complex testing projects to validate new designs and modifications in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications for the role
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
10+ years of electrical R D testing experience
Working knowledge of IEEE standards, UL standards and

ISO 17025

Strong ERP and documentation skills
Experienced in planning, leading, and executing technical projects
Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
