Mechanical Design Engineer Sheffield £45,000 – £55,000 + Benefits We’re working with a specialist design and manufacturing company based in Sheffield, seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to innovative projects across the civil, structural, and mechanical sectors, including high-profile bridges and building structures. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing precision mechanical components and bespoke connection details, using industry-standard design tools and collaborating with a skilled engineering team to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and custom connections Produce accurate 3D models and detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Perform structural and mechanical calculations using MathCAD Work closely with engineers across disciplines to ensure functional and practical designs Support manufacturing and fabrication teams with technical input and modifications
Requirements:
