SUMMARY:
A Mechanical Engineer applies knowledge ofengineering principles required to install, conduct routinepreventive maintenance on highly sophisticated, complex productionmachinery, analyze performance results, repair, and maintain suchmachinery and equipment in a 675,000 square foot turkey processingfacility processing over 17 million turkeys each year under thedirection of one or more engineers
- Create and analyze designs, run simulations and testhow the equipment functions post-repairs and system manipulation,and interacts with connected systems
- Analyze, diagnose, and recommend solutions formechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures on equipment
- Monitor, diagnose,troubleshoot, and perform timely repairs on various mechanicalequipment within the facility, including but not limited to,conveyor systems, sensors, safety guards, elevators, and/orcatwalks
- Interpret workorders and specifications to determine if machines and equipmentand recommend replacement, repair, or general maintenance asneeded
- Carry outroutine inspections of equipment and systems following establishedstandard operating procedures and checklists to ensure optimalperformance
- Reviewinstructions and interpret blueprints to ensure that project plansfollow test specifications and procedures and meet objectives
- Research, produce, andassemble mechanical parts for production machinery andequipment
- Investigate,recognize, diagnose equipment failures to identify faultyoperation, and recommend remedies to determine corrective action byinterpreting complex blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics, andwiring diagrams
- Design/Redesign, Assemble/Disassemble, Install/Transport industrialmechanical equipment using analysis, prototypes, and computer-aideddesign
- Follow andadhere to food and workplace safety policies and proceduresestablished by Butterball, LLC
- Communicate, at a high level, with plant operations toensure the machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’sDegree in related field
- -Minimum of two years of experience as a mechanical technician in arelated industry
- Mustachieve Minimum Effectiveness Level (MEL) within 3 years of HireDate
- Extensiveknowledge of mechanical designs, installations, maintenance andrepairs
- Ability tosolve problems by using theorical knowledge in the field ofdiscipline and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently to make decisionsunder the direct supervision of a professional in the field
- Ability to multi-task and meetdeadlines in a time sensitive environment
- Ability to direct clearly and concisely withexcellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, and workorders in the English language preferred. Bilingual ability in bothspoken and written Spanish and English is preferred, but notrequired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must regularly liftand/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to100 pounds. Must be able to work with all types of electricalequipment and tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the dutiesof this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanicalparts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposedto wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, riskof electrical shock and vibration.
- The duties of this jobrequires a person to stoop, bend, work off of knees, climb laddersand work in high areas up to 130 feet, work in dark areas and workin confined spaces after trained to do so. Must be able to climbladder and wear fall protection as necessary. The noise level inthe work environment is occasionally loud.
