Responsibilities Proficient in Revit or CAD with working in 3D models. Prepare HVAC one-line diagrams. Prepare and review HVAC calculations for loads. Thorough knowledge of mechanical and energy codes. Edit specifications to reflect project requirements. Develop equipment room sizes during SD and other phases. Select and schedule equipment. Meet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application. Coordinate with other disciplines (MEPFP, architectural, structural, etc.). Respond to RFIs for the project and accurately review submittals. Solve installation problems. Apply risk management procedures daily to minimize exposure to problems. Understand MEP/FP work planning and manage the design process. Work with project coordinator and clients to meet scheduled project milestones. Manage and deliver revisions and sketches according to numbering conventions. Edit and develop scope of work narratives. Understand specific engineering requirements for market sector applications. Provide direction and mentorship to designer-level staff. Perform at a responsible charge level, meeting design and quality levels. Conduct QA/QC reviews of all calculations and provide guidance. Determine content of drawings and specifications for designers. Develop and monitor work plans in conjunction with project managers. Review code-related items with designers and ensure compliance. Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours. Write studies and reports for systems on projects. Write sequences of operations for AHUs, CHW, and HW systems. Understand and apply concepts of CHW, HW, WSHP, variable & constant flow systems. Air side systems

  • CV, VAV, coil selection, fan selection. Hydronic systems
  • hot, chilled condenser, steam. Thorough understanding of psychometrics and apply to every project. Advanced equipment selection and analysis
  • chillers, boilers, air terminals, cooling towers, air valves, HEPA filters, DX equipment, and water source heat pumps.

Thorough understanding of total energy concepts. Fluent in energy software applications. Fluent in developing life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) for project systems. Essential Skills Mechanical design Mechanical engineering Project management HVAC engineering Technical leadership Revit Plumbing design Autocad Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. 4+ years of building HVAC design experience. EIT or Registered Professional Engineer preferred. Experience in designing and marketing in science and technology preferred. Work Environment Would work in the office, 3-5 days a week.
