Job Description
Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot progressive dies for high-volume metal stamping operations, ensuring precision, quality, and efficient production integration.
Job Requirements:
6+ years tooling experience Broad knowledge of mechanical engineering principles Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints Proficiency with CAD software Experience operating basic machine tools Experience using mechanical and optical measuring devices Root cause problem-solving skills Experience communicating with vendors
Preferred Skills:
Experience developing engineering specifications including mechanics, materials, tolerances, and cost estimates Experience obtaining quotes for new die builds and repairs Familiarity with tooling components procurement processes
Job Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain progressive dies used in metal stamping Maintain and repair molds as needed Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues affecting part precision and quality Collaborate with other departments to determine tooling methods and design concepts Obtain quotes for new dies and repair work Develop specifications for die mechanics and materials Inspect completed dies for accuracy and functionality Order required tooling and components for die builds Supervise initial production runs of new tooling
