Duties:
Use PTC Creo for modeling mechanical and mechatronic components including rotating components, brakes, clutches, actuators, valves, sheet metal structures, composite fairings, and general aerospace structures. Perform basic and finite element analysis of custom designs for strength, fatigue, vibration characteristics, thermodynamics, and motion studies using cad-assistive software programs. Create or assist with qualification test procedures, acceptance test procedures, and validation procedures for development hardware. Oversee & assist the drafting team with the development and checking of two-dimensional drawings (especially machining, assembly, and electrical drawings) or annotated 3D CAD models. Conduct investigative and qualification testing for military and aerospace requirements Write engineering technical reports typically expected during multi-year aerospace development programs Assist with the company’s introduction of new but proven technologies to ensure first-in-class product reliability, safety, and operational productivity. Assist or perform assembly or rework of development mechanical and packaging designs. Assist the production floor with troubleshooting of mechanical components for first and continuing production articles. Works closely with other engineers of other disciplines to meet technical objectives laid out by project managers or other management team Works courteously and resolutely with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals.
Required Qualifications:
Must be able to work independently but take direction from Minimum B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering Experienced in mechanical engineering development and systems engineering activities supporting military or commercial marketplaces. Relevant experience with Creo or similar CAD software including complex geometries Relevant experience with FEA software such as ANSYS Ability to review drawings with specific experience in the use and proper specification of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Possessing analytical skills required for mechanical design including stress analysis, fluid mechanics, and modal analysis Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills. Excellent business and technical communication skills. Business and technical astuteness.
