Individuals identified as dimensional will beexposed to the latest tooling concepts using 3D modeling software.

Engineers will be required to:

identify/define problems, perform root cause analysis, andimplement solutions to problems that affect yield, rework, andoverall quality of the product using a standardized approach (PDCA,Six-Sigma…). Knowledge and application of statistics. Occasionallytake a leadership role in resolving cross-functional problems. Thecandidate must be able to travel periodically to other CPPfacilities, customers and vendors to provide problem-solving andtechnical support. Major Responsibilities Develop, maintain, andteach “best practice” investment casting procedures and practices.

Use problem solving tools and techniques Responsible for theconstruction of all dies (shrink factor analysis), gages, andsupport tooling needed to produce and inspect cores, wax patterns,and castings. Interface with tooling vendors and CPP purchasing toproduce a quality tool/die at a competitive price. Responsible forcontrol of dimensional quality of casting. Identify and addressprocess yields using various data analysis techniques (statistical,mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) Strong working knowledge ofGD&T Able to interpret customer drawings, specifications,blueprints, models (CAD/NX), and layout reports. Gage R&R, SPC,non-straightening processes and other cost reduction initiativesIdentify, evaluate and implement new process technologies thatadvance manufacturing and product capabilities. Communicate withtooling vendors to design concepts for wax pattern die, the buildof gate dies and support fixtures. Document work procedures andprocesses. Work closely with other departments to ensureorganization objectives are achieved. Maintain a positive workatmosphere with respect and communicate in a professional manner.

Good verbal and written communication skills at ease communicatingwith customer engineering groups Good verbal communications withall levels of management and manufacturing. Responsible foradherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures.

Attendance/Reliability Ability to work at the Chittenango facilityQualifications BS in Engineering or 3-5 years of applicableexperience (investment casting, tooling design, and CAD [preferablyNX] experience). Strong communication skills (written and verbal),PC skills and program management skills. Knowledge of Six Sigma andLean Manufacturing Principles. Knowledge of structured light toolsand programming Excellent organizational, interpersonal anddocumentation skills. The successful candidate’s career will showincreasing levels of responsibility.
