Job Description
Actalent is Urgently Hiring Mechanical Design Engineers As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for the engineering design of HVAC systems and overall MEP systems. This role includes construction administration and project management for a variety of institutional projects. You will play a key role in delivering technically sound, code-compliant, and efficient designs from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design HVAC systems and support overall MEP engineering efforts.
- Conduct load calculations, site surveys, and field inspections.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and design documentation.
- Review and coordinate designs with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NYS Energy Code, Mechanical Code, Building Code, NFPA).
- Manage projects from design development through construction administration.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on HVAC and/or plumbing systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD with at least 4 years of design experience.
- Strong knowledge of relevant building codes and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
