YOUR DAY TO DAY
: We’re looking for a Mechanical Designer/Engineer to be a key contributor to our collaborative design engineering team. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys bringing concepts to life and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a well-organized leader with prior experience in power supplies, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and a solid grasp of mechanical and electrical design. This position involves access to controlled technology, so applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. persons under
ITAR/EAR
regulations.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE TO
: Develop new and/or revise existing three-dimensional Computer Aided Design (CAD) models of mechanical parts and assemblies Create new and/or revise existing two-dimensional drawings or prints using CAD software, and bills of material for our products Create and revise electrical drawings and schematic documents with various input from design engineers Produce manufacturing documentation suitable for the fabrication of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) Checks drawings versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standard engineering drafting practices and standards Create Engineering Change Notices detailing the necessary changes to released designs, updates drawings/models/BOMs
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE
: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field 3-5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering General knowledge of design principles and techniques including computer aided design (CAD) Knowledge of materials, hardware, and material finishes Training/experience in the use of 3D Mechanical CAD tools (SolidWorks Preferred) Training/experience in the use of 2D Mechanical CAD tools (AutoCAD Preferred) General knowledge of design documentation standards (e.g. ASME Y14.5M, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) Knowledge of simple mechanical stress, structural, thermal and tolerance analysis Strong organizational & problem-solving skills Ability to work within the trade space defined (cost / schedule / technology) Demonstrated ability to weigh reasonable risks and make progress in the face of uncertainty Good communication skills, written and oral, with an emphasis on documenting rationale for design choices Excellent time-management skills This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR . In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)( 3).
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with the design requirements of electronic equipment (e.g. familiarity with material and tolerance requirements for these types of products) Experience in the capture of electronic schematics and electrical diagrams Experience and training in the development of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layouts including component placement, trace routing & design verification. Familiarity with management tools such as Microsoft Project to track task status Experience with rapid prototyping tools and use of quick-turn prototyping vendors Experience in light fabrication of prototype, proof-of-concept models, or mock-ups of designed parts
