About the role:

The Smart Trailer and Connected Equipmentbusiness unit is one of the fastest growing product lines atSamsara. We focus on solutions that help our customers manage theirtrailers and other unpowered equipment. As a full stack engineer onthe Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment team, you will deliverend to end solutions like tracking utilization of equipment, usingsensors to monitor loads and temperature and asset trackingsolutions that provide a complete picture of where a customer’sassets are deployed. This is a remote position open to candidatesbased in the US.

  • Bring a customer-focused mindset to alldevelopment, balancing the need to iterate quickly and delivercustomer wins iteratively
  • Partner with the Engineering Manager toadvocate for long-term technical health of our products alongsidethe product priorities.
  • Act as a force multiplier on the team byleveraging other engineers and personally exemplify how to delivervalue at Samsara
  • Mentor other engineers by actively participatingin design and implementation conversations across the team
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles(Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a GrowthMindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally andacross new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:
  • BachelorsDegree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practicalexperience.
  • 8 years of relevant industry experience in softwaredevelopment.
  • Strong programming/coding fundamentals withproficiency in at least one of the following: Go, GraphQL,TypeScript, React.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, andproblem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to managetechnical discussions.
An ideal candidate also has:
  • Built andshipped a 0-1 product and understands how to scale for growth andbusiness impact post that phase.
  • Experience working with MLengineers and applied scientists to deploy machine learning modelsto production
  • Understanding of how to build for stability andgrowth while being responsive to customer feedback.
  • Priorexperience working with geolocation data
