About the role:

The Smart Trailer and Connected Equipmentbusiness unit is one of the fastest growing product lines atSamsara. We focus on solutions that help our customers manage theirtrailers and other unpowered equipment. As a full stack engineer onthe Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment team, you will deliverend to end solutions like tracking utilization of equipment, usingsensors to monitor loads and temperature and asset trackingsolutions that provide a complete picture of where a customer’sassets are deployed. This role is remote and open to candidatesresiding in the US.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• BachelorsDegree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practicalexperience.
• 12 years of experience in software design,development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 4 ofthose years in an architect or leadership role
• Demonstratedability to ship production-quality software in a dynamicenvironment
• Expertise working with web services at massive scaledeployed on Cloud providers such as AWS or Azure
• Is an expert inwriting high quality, performant and maintainable code in a modernprogramming language
• Excellent communication, collaboration, andproblem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to managetechnical discussions.

An ideal candidate also has:

• Has 15 yearsof relevant industry experience in software development.
• Priorexperience working with geolocation data, geofences, BLE, Maps
• Prior experience measuring and evaluating algorithms using metricsand iterating to improve the algorithm accuracy.
• Built andshipped a 0-1 product and understands how to scale for growth andbusiness impact post that phase.
• Experience working with MLengineers and applied scientists to deploy machine learning modelsto production
• Understanding of how to build for stability andgrowth while being responsive to customer feedback.
• Hasexperience influencing a company’s product and infrastructurestrategy
• Enjoys leading and mentoring engineers to think aboutsystems – their life cycles, edge cases, and failure modes.
• Enjoys enabling cross-functional collaboration between product,design, and engineers with different focuses (frontend, mobile,firmware, hardware, computer vision, ML)
