Job Description Primary Objectives To enhance existing designs, develop new ones, prepare blueprints for mechanical parts, provide technical support to clients, and collaborate with other engineers and manufacturing staff. Essential Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned and changed as needed) Oversee the product development for tooling programs Designing and developing new tools that are used for manufacturing products such as molds, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and other forms of machinery Facilitate in die buy offs Oversee and follow-up on production and application Analyze and trouble shoot assemblies and components Maintain tooling programs on the most economical cost basis Evaluate quality Analyzing data from tests in order to identify areas for improvement in tool performance or design Working with engineers to develop new products using computer aided design software Creating physical models of new tools using computer aided design technology (CAD) Ensuring that tools meet industry standards for quality and safety by conducting regular inspections of molds and machines used to manufacture parts Developing new processes for manufacturing products that use less energy or raw materials than current methods Creating and maintaining a library of standard designs used in manufacturing Consulting with suppliers to select optimal materials for tool construction as well as recommend ways to reduce costs Designing and building tools that are used in machining metal components Qualifications Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field 3-5 years experience in tooling engineering or a related role Working knowledge of CAD software programs (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis Strong understanding of machining processes and materials Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Skills and Qualifications Master’s degree in engineering or related field 6+ years experience in tooling engineering or a related role specifically within automotive industry Certification from the American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers (ASME) Experience with FEA and CFD simulations Working knowledge of statistical analysis software (Minitab, JMP, etc.) Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. • Not accepting candidates through any third-party recruiters at this time. •
