LocationRaymond, OhioJob PurposeTheHDMA Digital Innovation Division, Digital Manufacturing Unit, IoTSolutions Development group was created to survey Honda’smanufacturing business and develop strategy for prioritizeddevelopment of digital solutions that enable improved productionefficiency, quality, and safety for a sustainable future. The IoTSolutions Engineer is engaging with NA regional plant floorcustomers to identify opportunities to develop and testtechnology/concepts and prove the ability to deliver reliable valueto our customer. Ideal candidate for this role has a creatormindset, is excited to maintain awareness of digital technologydevelopments, and then develop new, reliable solutions that enableHonda competitiveness, while also being risk averse. KeyAccountabilities Development of new digital technology solutions such as visioninspection systems, AI and M/L analysis of machine/sensordata. Analyse user/customer needs along with manufacturing problemsand align them with product/technology opportunities. Contribute to and execution of IoT strategy and roadmap forselected areas. Monitor developments of new technologies for IoT potential infuture projects Support analytical processes, like machine learning in usewithin proof-of-technology concepts to deployed IoTprojects.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering-related areas:electrical, controls, systems, computer science, data science orequivalent experience 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing equipment controls,network design, embedded systems, machine learning and/or dataengineering with a focus on the automotive industry Understanding, extraction and interpretation of parameter datain a machine that represents the health of the machine components,proper operation, and effects on product quality. Knowledge of manufacturing equipment controls and logic

• preferably in at least one of Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Siemens, orOmron PLCs.

Understanding of computer vision algorithms such assegmentation, morphology, pose estimation, camera calibration,image enhancement, feature extraction, classification, 3D Visionand deep learning techniques. Experience implementing vision algorithms in C++, Python,HALCON, Matrox, Cognex, and/or Keyence, using traditional rulesand/or deep learning. Experience with vibration, audio, or current signatureanalysisWorkstyle Hybrid position, preferred Ohio site 90% office, 10% production floor (go to the spot) Travel to plant or special assignmentWhat differentiates Hondaand make us an employer of choice?
