Other Technical and Career Faculty; +1 Other Engineering Faculty Priority Job Responsibilities Maintains a high level of excellence in teaching by communicating and interacting effectively with students enrolled in courses within the program area. Prepares materials needed for course instruction and testing. Keeps student records and adheres to course schedules. Uses learning management systems to communicate with students, faculty, and staff. Participates in the collection of student learning outcomes. Assists the Mechatronics Technology coordinator with timely notification of any shortfall in supplies or equipment needed for lab instruction. Conducts lectures, discussions, and other teaching activities. Relates instruction and material to course objectives. Provides students with course syllabi and correlates grade assignments with skill and course competency. Submits grades, reports, and records in a timely manner. Remains current in the field. This position requires a candidate who will teach, develop curriculum, and contribute to program development in areas such as programmable logic controls (PLCs), robotics, process control, industrial networks, instrumentation, and related disciplines. This position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching, advising students, and maintaining industry engagement. The ideal candidate must be able to present material relevant to these disciplines in a manner that will produce fundamentally sound and technically diverse graduates who will be able to function as an Advance Maintenance Technician in an industrial/manufacturing environment. This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Northeast Campus. Minimum and Additional Requirements Associate’s degree in Mechatronics or a related field and five (5) years of direct practical experience working in the the area of Mechatronics. Must have a broad knowledge of the Mechatronics/Manufacturing industry with specific knowledge in teaching areas of Mechatronics. Preferred Qualifications Five (5) years of related industry experience, specifically in Automation. Must have the ability to present subject material meaningfully to students and evaluate their levels of learning.
