Duties and responsibilities:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Designs coastal/civil construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models
Prepares coastal/civil engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data
Supports the analysis of project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs
Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data
Develops coastal/civil construction specifications, plans, and schedules to produce engineering documents
Researches and assists in complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions
Successfully support ongoing Coastal / Water practice through contacts and business development efforts working with EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, NOAA, Local Environmental agencies, as well as private sector clients
Implementing scientific and regulatory tasks for projects to ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and policies, including NEPA, Endangered Species Act, and Clean Water Act Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Coastal Engineering
5 to 7 years of experience
Professional Engineer licensure in Florida and/or Alabama or the ability to obtain via reciprocity in Florida within 6 months of hire. Software Proficient in AutoCAD
Microstation, Civil3D, or SWMM proficiency; preferred
Coastal modeling software; preferred
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) Availability and willingness to travel within the Florida/Alabama Gulf Coast
