We are seeking QC Inspector for our Fabrication Division in Locust, North Carolina. JOB DUTIES
The main responsibility is to ensure we are following the Quality Manual, applying AWS requirements and specification as required, while implementing engineering and job-specific requirements. Additional responsibilities include developing and utilizing an inspection test plan and first article inspections. Inspect and assess both the quality and strength of welds. Check the weld specifications and ensure the use of proper equipment. Perform dimensional & visual weld inspections of in-process and final product. Perform dimensional inspections of purchased components. Perform dimensional inspection of in-process parts that are cut, bent and/or welded. Administers welder qualification test in accordance with
AWS D1.1.
Maintains all welder certification and procedural documentation. Design and implement weld inspection quality assurance plans. Prepare material control requirements. Adhere to all safety requirements and protocols. Completes required paperwork such as a MT test report when required using technical writing skills. Identifies non-conformances on the shop floor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Possess an active AWS CWI certificate. 5+ years experience as a CWI. A high school diploma is required. An Associate’s degree is preferred in a welding, engineering, construction, or fabrication field. Extensive knowledge of relevant welding inspection codes and standards. Expert with welding symbols and drawings. Working knowledge of wire and filler materials application for various steel alloys. Working knowledge of inspection measurement techniques and use of instrumentation. Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, vendors, and superiors, both written and oral.
