Structural Engineer – Nuclear Power Plants – 100% Remote We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team, specializing in Nuclear Power Plant projects. The role involves performing structural analysis (static or response spectra), seismic and other load combinations per plant criteria, equipment and piping supports, building structural frames, foundations, piping or pipe support analysis per ASME Section III or B31.1 design, lifting assembly, rigging or crane designs, AISC steel and ACI concrete design codes, component stress analysis (GTSTRUDL or ANSYS), plant impact reviews and evaluations, and assessment of existing structures, development of retrofit type designs. This person will have the ability to work remotely, while reporting to an office in either Chicagoland, IL, or Atlanta, GA. Preference will be given to candidates who live closer to these offices, and/or who sit in the Eastern or Central Time Zones. Job Responsibilities Perform structural analysis (static or response spectra), seismic and other load combinations per plant criteria. Design equipment and piping supports. Develop building structural frames and foundations. Conduct piping or pipe support analysis per ASME Section III or B31.1 design. Create lifting assembly, rigging, or crane designs. Utilize AISC steel and ACI concrete design codes. Perform component stress analysis using GTSTRUDL or ANSYS. Review and evaluate plant impacts. Assess existing structures and develop retrofit type designs. Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited college or university) 3+ years of experience working on Design and Analysis for Nuclear Power Plants or Industrial Facilities Will consider 1+ year of experience, but preference for candidates with 4+ years Will consider relevant project experience within Steel or Concrete Experience with Static Structural Analyses, Structural Dynamics, or Seismic Analysis Experience and proficient knowledge on Design Codes AISC, ACI, and ASCE Experience with Report Writing, Calculations, Drawings, and Specifications Strong Communication Skills – Written and Verbal Preferred – MathCAD Proficiency
