Radiological Engineer Job Description The Senior Radiological Engineer – Dose & Dispersion will play a pivotal role within the Dose and Dispersion team, focusing on dose consequence and dispersion analyses in the nuclear, radiological, and safety analysis engineering function. This role involves performing, verifying, and mentoring team members in analyses related to source term, decay heat, dose and dispersion, ALARA, and other radiological nuclear safety analyses. The engineer will support the next generation of Light Water Reactor designs (BWRX-300), GEN 4 reactor designs, and services related to existing fleets and fuel. Responsibilities Conduct technical evaluations and provide support in areas of source term, decay heat, dose and dispersion analyses, ALARA, and other radiological nuclear safety analyses. Communicate and coordinate effectively with project managers, technical personnel, and customers on engineering and technical issues. Maintain high standards of quality and safety while adhering to project schedules and cost objectives. Prepare, document, and present technical data to internal and external customers. Contribute to team process improvements to enhance speed and simplification. Ensure compliance with NRC, CNSC, or other regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards. Mentor and guide early career engineers. Essential Skills Expertise in dose dispersion and radiological dose dispersion. Proficiency with BWR and nuclear engineering. Experience with BWR technology and sodium fast reactor technology. Knowledge of plant operational support and reactor licensing requirements. Experience with software tools such as ORIGEN, RADTRAD, MCNP, SCALE, MELCOR, MAAP, and MACCS. Object-oriented programming skills in languages like Java, C#, and C++. Additional Skills & Qualifications M.S. or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university. Demonstrated ability to energize others and a high level of personal integrity. Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication within a team environment.
