What You’ll Do in This Position Begin to plan and develop quality engineering solutions to technical and QA Program objectives. Begin using SRNS systems and meeting SRNS requirements with supervisory guidance. Assist more senior technical and quality engineering professionals in performing related activities on more complex tasks. Assume technical and quality engineering responsibility for one or more related program elements or facilities. Cooperate with other engineers/scientists performing related facility or program technical and quality engineering work. Participate appropriately in group’s assigned function and/or facility training. Accept the delegated technical and quality engineering responsibility for development, application, test, preparation or review of procedures, purchase requisitions, and work packages associated with assigned facilities or projects. Apply technical and quality engineering knowledge toward the improvement of product quality and the reduction of costs where possible, while incorporating new ideas resulting from technical and quality engineering progress in the field. Prepare cost and schedule estimates on proposed inspection, test, and oversight functions related to assigned projects and facilities. Prepare quality assurance manuals, procedures, instructions and reports. Conduct and report on surveillances, monitoring, assessments, audits, and reviews of quality-related activities as assigned. Develop working knowledge of organizations and management systems to facilitate CQF efficiency and service. Demonstrate total quality awareness through development and submittal of TQ Improvement suggestions. May perform other duties as assigned. Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Clearance Required to Perform Job Q Qualifications We Require High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential Other Qualifications Ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance. Qualifications We Desire A college degree with quality assurance, quality control or engineering experience in the fields of operations, maintenance, construction or industrial manufacturing Auditor certification from previous employer is desirable. Ability to complete training and demonstrate proficiency to obtain quality auditor, assessor qualifications. Experience performing audits, assessment, issue investigations, or corrective action effectiveness reviews.
