Job Description

FISBA NORTH AMERICA / OPTICAL TEST ENGINEER / SACO, ME

Green card or US Citizens Only FISBA North America is seeking an Optical Test Engineer to work from their Saco, Maine office/production facility. The position reports to the Director of Engineering and Production, and works closely with engineers, assembly technicians, and quality personnel to develop custom optical test set ups and test processes for inspecting optical components. Position:
Education:

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Optics. (Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineer degrees considered, with specific job experience working in optics disciplines)

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of work experience in an optics lab.

Technical Skills:

Extensive experience with optical devices, scientific cameras, lasers, LEDs, and opto-mechanics. Proficiency in measurement software and image analysis tools. Experience writing test scripts and code in Python. Experience interfacing to peripheral devices in Python. Experience with Imatest and ImageJ for image processing.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of optical testing and metrology principles. Familiarity with interferometers and other metrology equipment.

Analytical Skills:

Ability to analyze test data and generate insightful reports.

Problem-Solving:

Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment and process issues.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Team Collaboration:

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Position:
Develop Custom Test Setups:

Design and implement tailored test setups for engineering projects utilizing lenses, mirrors, lasers, LEDS, and opto-mechanical components. Develop Python interfaces to peripherals such as cameras, motion stages, and light sensors.

Develop Test Processes:

Create and refine test processes using metrology equipment using interferometers, microscopes, and photometric equipment. Write test scripts in python, analysis and process data.

Metrology Equipment Management:

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot metrology equipment.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze test data, generate reports, and provide recommendations.

Quality Assurance:

Implement quality control measures and conduct audits.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated on advancements and propose improvements.
