Distribution Engineer Job Description This position is for a Distribution Engineer to support the service area of Birmingham, AL for Power Distribution. Projects will vary and include KV conversions, strengthening of tie lines, automation projects, copper wire replacement, and device upgrades. The work is part of ongoing capital upgrades and grid modernization programs. Responsibilities Participate in KV conversions and strengthening of tie lines. Work on automation projects and copper wire replacement. Upgrade devices as part of grid modernization efforts. Support customer delivery growth by establishing power distribution to new businesses or facilities. Provide Joint Use/Share Services support. Essential Skills Experience in Power Utility Distribution Services. Electrical and engineering skills related to utility, power, overhead, and underground systems. Civil and mechanical engineering knowledge. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with distribution systems. Experience in the distribution area to help bridge internal knowledge gaps. Work Environment The work office will be located in the metro area, potentially including Trussville or downtown offices. The role involves spending the majority of time in field offices and making trips to the service territory as required by various projects.
