Research Faculty II, 12 Month Salaried (Center for Advanced Power Systems) 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Tallahassee, FL Department Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS) Responsibilities Including but not limited to the following: Analysis of power systems operations and control. Perform transient time domain simulations of electrical power systems in general and real-time simulation in particular. Conduct Power Hardware-in-the-Loop experiments for testing of novel power hardware. Conduct Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop experiments using real-time-simulator platforms. Supervising students. Writing reports and presenting research results to others (including conferences). Support proposal development. Qualifications An academic doctorate or highest level degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in power and energy systems or a related field from an accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications At least three years of experience in modeling and simulation (M&S) of power systems with a preferred emphasis on real-time modeling instantiation. Experience and knowledge of Power and Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop concepts and methodologies preferred. Experience with real-time simulator platforms preferred. Experience with M&S tools such as PSCAD, RSCAD, and MATLAB/Simulink. Proficiency with scripting languages and/or programming languages.
