Full-Time About the Role Actalent is seeking a skilled and motivated Substation P&C Engineer to join our dynamic Substation Engineering team. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about high-voltage utility systems and renewable energy interconnection projects. You’ll work on a variety of substation design projects, applying your technical expertise to develop detailed schematics and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities Design high-voltage (4kV – 230kV) and EHV (above 230kV) substation systems.
Develop:
One-line and three-line diagrams Potential, current, control, alarm, and communication schematics Wiring diagrams and I/O mapping Prepare protection and control specifications (preferred). Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle—from design to construction. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project milestones. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., transmission, telecom). Attend client technical review meetings and support proposal development. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited). 3+ years of direct experience in Substation P&C Design Engineering. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Familiarity with NEC, NESC, and industry standards. Experience with SDS (Substation Design Suite) preferred. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain within 2 years. Experience with relay settings and protection device coordination. Proficiency in ASPEN OneLiner, CYME Dist, or similar tools. Knowledge of construction practices and project controls.
