Job Description:

What You’ll Do:
Design Engineering:
Produce innovative engineering designs for energy distribution projects.
Project Management:
Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, develop BOMs, estimate costs, and more.
Support Major Projects:
Work on major distribution projects for the utility industry using CAD for drafting/design work and ArcFM.
Leadership Projects:
Engage in projects related to electric power distribution and leadership, specifically make-ready and smart antenna.
Construction Support:
Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all standards are met.
Site Inspections:
Travel to sites as needed, perform inspections, and return to the office to perform engineering design work.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
0-1 year of experience or basic knowledge in the electric utility industry, including primary and secondary distribution systems, utility standards, design software packages, and general construction knowledge.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation/initiative, and a desire to learn.
Communication:
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization and with outside clients and agencies.
Analytical Competence:
Ability to interact with a variety of individuals, including engineers and experienced distribution system designers.

Office Environment:
40 hours per week, with some overtime depending on deliverables (must be approved by leadership).
