The Opportunity
Join our dynamic Grid Integration team as a Substation Engineer! This role offers a unique chance to lead the development of innovative solutions for complex projects, ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence. You’ll be at the forefront of driving completion of engineering activities, coordinating across multiple projects, and interacting directly with customers, officials, contractors, and supply chain. You’ll work onsite in our Raleigh, NC office, collaborating closely with colleagues and stakeholders to drive success.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Develop new solutions for complex projects and challenges.
Drive completion of all engineering activities on projects.
Coordinate mechanical engineering discipline across several projects.
Provide technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
Create work plans and cost estimates, ensuring quality deliverables.
Interact directly with customers, officials, contractors, and supply chain.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigate potential risks.
Prepare manufacturing documents for control and protection cubicles.
Your Background
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
1-2 years of relevant experience.
In-depth knowledge of the National Electric Code and
ANSI/IEEE
requirements.
Experience in plant design, specifically with HV transmission substation solutions.
Proficiency in BIM / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Revit – 3D Modeling.
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
