Job Description Summary The SCADA Fulfillment Lead Engineer will be the resident expert for SCADA hardware and software implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of wind farm auxiliary equipment. This person will also lead the execution of new wind farm projects as mentor to project engineers on the team and technical point of contact for Wind Farm Engineering as it pertains to SCADA tools, processes, and implementation. This person will also manage efforts to improve, maintain, and/or create tools that improve quality and efficiency of SCADA and control software implementation. The Lead SCADA Fulfillment Engineer will help integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization as well as drive resolution to customer issues. The NAM Requisition Team works directly with our customers, commercial teams, design engineers, field engineers, and other teams serving as experts in the area of project configuration, product installation, Wind SCADA, Wind Farm Control, and balance of plant mechanical equipment. We primarily support the order to remittance phase of new unit fulfillment but we also support commercial modifications and uprates on installed turbines. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Responsible for engineering fulfillment of SCADA, Networking, Controls & Electrical scope including: Provide support of network and control system issues by providing technical expertise for site installation & commissioning at new wind farms and help project engineers provide timely & accurate responses to customer inquiries. Act as an engineering point of contact in customer meetings. Review and clarify contractual requirements and translate into product definition. Issue software that is specifically and accurately configured to accommodate customer requirements. Create and develop project specific engineering documentation. Configure software & control parameters per site requirements. Establish and maintain relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and achieved. Actively lead initiatives for continuous improvement regarding tools and processes such as parameter development and deployment, control software management, parameter management for legacy units, and execution of modification and upgrades. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of significant work experience in the area of SCADA/Networking) Minimum 3 years experience in engineering related field Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the year. Desired Characteristics Advanced degree or certification Experience in equipment controls or SCADA control systems. Must use strong and collaborative approach to problem solving. Comfortable providing technical presentation to peers & managers on the details of technical issues and project status. SQL, OPC, ODBC, MODBUS, networking protocols, ControlST/MarkVIe or other controls software Power Generation, renewable energy, and wind industry experience.
EED processes and tools for NPI and fulfillment Six Sigma green belt certification Strong analytical skills, able to do Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to understand and resolve problems The salary range for this position is $98,400 – $164,000 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
