Product Development Engineer Product Development Liberty, SC Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Co. is a world leader in the manufacture of fire sprinklers and related system valves as well as a major distributor of a full line of fire sprinkler system components and fabricated piping solutions to the fire sprinkler industry since 1920. Summary The Product Development Engineer designs and creates new and existing product improvement and cost reduction with limited supervision while integrating the need of sales and manufacturing for the organization. Duties and Responsibilities Executes all phases of product development from design concepts to release for production Responsible for developing, documenting, and controlling each project plan from initial design concepts to initial production Manages new development projects which include schedules, costs, tooling and agency approvals Performs solid modeling designs to maintain design integrity Evaluates products for stress analysis, fluid flow, strength of materials, metallurgy, static analysis and elements of machine design for designing products Plans and budgets entire products development projects from design concepts to initial production Interprets engineering drawings checking for accuracy, dimensional tolerances and completeness of all design drawings and specification sheets Attends product repair and/or witness testing at national laboratories of requirements for completing approvals and listings of new and revised product designs Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.
