$175,000•$190,000 + 15% Bonus + FREE Medical Benefits + Relocation Founded in 1983 we are a 100 employee manufacturer & supplier of manpack & fly away satellite terminals designed for the expeditionary user community. We primarily serve the Federal & DoD markets and have been slowly gaining market share in the space beating out most of the tier 1 prime defense contractors. For this Principal RF Design Engineer opening we are looking for a subject matter expert who will focus on advancing multi-orbit SATCOM systems to meet the requirements of the DoD across all military branches. What You Will Be Doing Design, simulate & select components incl: layout development & optimization for leading to successful final prototype creation & testing
Collaborate on analog design to address power requirements & considerations in relation to RF designs incl: integration w/ logic circuit
Design & integrate land-based satellite communication systems incl: receive/transmit modules, modem modules, power supply modules, antennas & related RF components
Break down system requirements into detailed hardware specs to enable design & development of modular RF products for optimized performance & scalability
Lead as Project Engineer in development of system-level HW/SW requirements for new or enhanced ground-based SATCOM products
Conduct link budget analysis for

GEO, MEO & LEO

satellite ground-based SATCOM terminals operating across X, Ku & Ka bands
Develop test specs & verification matrices that facilitate conduct of testing to determine HW/SW compliance to Mil-STD
Participate in company’s make / buy decisions for key technology
Participate in proposal preparation by identifying & incorporating themes that are important to customers into our written submissions & join in pricing reviews What You Need for this Position Ability to acquire a Secret Level clearance
Master’s Degree of Science or similar in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering etc
15+ years of experience in military or commercial SATCOM
RF component selection, simulation, layout & testing
Development of modular RF products
Power & logic circuit integration w/ RF designs
Design & integration of ground-based satellite communications systems
Experience with

GEO, MEO, LEO

across

X, KU & KA

bands
MIL-STD & industry standards test spec development
Coordination w/ Inmarsat, SES, FCC, DoD etc for terminal certification
