The Fluid Systems Engineer is an entry to mid-level position in the power generation sector, focused on designing upgrades for gas turbine auxiliary systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with skills in the industrial process, equipment, piping, commissioning controls, and project engineering. In this multifaceted position, you’ll apply engineering principles to work autonomously on regular assignments and undertake progressively challenging tasks under the guidance of senior engineers or management. Key Responsibilities Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership.
Assist in the design and development of auxiliary systems for combustion gas turbines, adhering to established standard operating procedures for natural gas, oil, air, hydrogen, steam, and water for both Mitsubishi and Non-OEM units.
Participate in design work for feasibility, assist in detailed engineering studies and help with standardizing products for efficient deployment.
Work with Senior Engineers to specify design requirements for vendors to quote and supply components (pumps, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, skids, instrumentation, pipe supports etc.) that are in code compliance with contract and internal requirements.
Perform process engineering calculations and documentation.
Perform piping engineering calculations and documentation. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in the following
Engineering Fields:
Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace 1-3 years of previous experience in fluid systems engineering Experience with electrical components in conformance with NEC (National Electric Code)
Experience with design and development of fluid systems from process flow diagrams and P&ID creation using SmartPlant P&ID solutions or equivalent software such as: (AutoCAD) Conduct flow network analysis around fluids (Compressible/Non-Compressible) working with AFT Arrow or AFT Fathom software tools Understanding of 3D Pipe Modeling using PDS, PDMS, SP3D, or Creo Piping and fabrication drawings
Familiarity with Hazardous Area and controls related to process piping valves, pumps and motors
Familiarity with software solutions such as WindChill or DOORS for product life cycle and revision management Ability to travel up to 20%.
