Tulane’s School of Science and Engineering is launching a groundbreaking project to revolutionize surgical outcomes for prostate and colorectal cancer patients. We’re developing an advanced device that will enable real-time, high-resolution scanning of tumor excisions during surgery, using cutting-edge machine learning to detect residual cancer cells instantly. Surgeons will receive immediate, accurate feedback right in the operating room-ushering in a new era of precision cancer treatment. We’re seeking a Medical Automation Engineer with exceptional talent and experience to drive this innovation forward. In this role, you will design state-of-the-art automated and robotic systems for biological tissue handling, working with high-speed machine vision technology in surgical environments.   • Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in medical automation and/or medical robotics.
  • Experience with Python/C++ / C# programming.
  • Experience with machine vision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
