Engineering Technician – Robotics (Overtime Eligible)

New Brighton PA New Product Introduction Facility Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Engineering Technician – Robotics to join our automation team. This role will focus on the development, programming, and deployment of robotic systems for part abrasion, marking, and CNC machine tending in a high-mix manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Cobots, vision systems, and be comfortable developing repeatable, autonomous processes with minimal operator input.
Key Responsibilities:
Automated Part Abrasion & Marking:
Develop and implement protocols for robotic part abrasion and marking. Utilize vision recognition to detect and orient to each discrete part without operator intervention. Support high-mix production environments with reliable, flexible automation strategies.
Robot Programming & Optimization:
Program and fine-tune collaborative robots (Cobots) for new products and processes. Ensure robotic systems are optimized for speed, accuracy, and safety.
Automated CNC Machine Tending:
Develop and implement vision-based CNC machine tending protocols adaptable to various part geometries. Focus on autonomous operation, minimizing the need for operator adjustment or setup.
Cross-Functional Support:
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to validate automated systems. Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Experience with Cobots (e.g., Universal Robots, Fanuc CRX, etc.). Vision system integration and programming. Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on automation and robotics.
Software Proficiency:
SolidWorks or similar CAD software (preferred). Experience with 3D printing technologies (preferred).
Other Requirements:
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Strong communication and documentation skills. Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
Education & Experience:
Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field; or equivalent technical experience. 2+ years of experience in a robotics or automation technician role preferred.

$60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
