POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for creating/maintaining quality check fixtures, maintaining/modifying existing robotics and automated equipment, and implementing innovative solutions as directed by Innovation Engineer/Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for building, programming, and maintaining machine vision equipment
- Responsible for the programming and optimization of robots as directed
- Responsible for optimizing production assembly equipment for quality and productivity purposes
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems used for industrial automation applications (with limited or no assistance)
- Assist with the development and integration of new automation equipment/robotic cells while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity protocols
- Work alongside production, assembly, quality, or maintenance departments on projects requiring collaboration
- Expected to take floor calls to the production and assembly stations to address equipment issues
- Attend new and current model equipment trials/run-offs when needed
- Assist with the set-up/running of current production or service parts as required
- 5S Principles must be a priority
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with Production Engineer, Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and related departments
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors when necessary
- Attend departmental and interdepartmental meetings as needed
EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or G.E.D
- Experience with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems/schematics
- Associates/Technical Degree in related field
- Fabrication Experience
- Experience with machine vision systems. Setup, program, debug (Mostly Keyence & Cognex)
- Experience with robot programming (Fanuc, Sepro, Motoman)
- Experience with troubleshooting/modifying
PLC & HMI
code, ladder logic (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron)
- Experience with CAD a plus (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Satisfactory work record, including attendance
- Willing to work overtime during the week and weekends when necessary
- Willing to work off-shift hours for call-ins or coverage as needed
- Willing to travel up to 2 weeks at a time
- Desire to pursue advanced education
