Equipment Technician We are seeking a hands-on, technically proficient Equipment Technician to support and optimize advanced precision manufacturing equipment in a high-tech production environment. The successful candidate will be dedicated to reducing downtime, improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of complex manufacturing systems. Key Responsibilities Perform complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic repairs on high-precision manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoot issues involving motors, clamps, linear drives, valves, actuators, and similar systems. Conduct electrical diagnostics using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power meters to resolve voltage-related issues. Perform PLC resets and interpret sensor data to address sequence or alarm errors. Execute and enhance preventive maintenance activities according to schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Accurately document maintenance activities in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities. Implement solutions using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies. Support efforts to reduce unplanned downtime and improve mean time between failures (MTBF). Work with engineering, operations, and quality teams on tool upgrades, experiments, and process changes. Assist with Design of Experiments (DOE) and data collection for process optimization. Coordinate with equipment vendors for troubleshooting, upgrades, and training. Mentor junior technicians on troubleshooting techniques and preventive maintenance procedures. Contribute to team meetings, shift handovers, and technical presentations. Develop and maintain work instructions and training materials related to equipment maintenance. Adhere to cleanroom protocols and ESD procedures in a controlled manufacturing environment. Follow all safety standards and company policies, promptly report incidents, and support root cause investigations. Required Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing or high-tech production environment. Hands-on experience with mechanical systems (e.g., shafts, bearings, couplings, actuators). Proficiency in diagnosing electrical issues using test circuits, power sources, and meters. Ability to interpret alarms and sensor feedback for root cause identification. Experience adjusting pneumatic systems for performance optimization. Ability to work independently and support vendor-assisted diagnostics remotely. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or completion of a technical college program. Preferably hands-on experience repairing manufacturing equipment, ideally in semiconductor or high-tech industries. Familiarity with automated material handling systems or robotic interfaces. Experience with precision manufacturing tools and vacuum-based systems. Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement training. Prior experience in cleanroom environments and awareness of ESD compliance. Familiarity with calibration verification and vision system troubleshooting.
