Job Description

Field Technician – Robotics Prime Robotics Wellford, SC As a Field Robotics Technician, you’ll be on the frontlines of warehouse robotics support. In this role, you will work at customer warehouses to troubleshoot robotic solutions, maintain field safety, and ensure that prime’s automated systems remain operational. This role combines hands-on technical work with customer relationship management, making you the face of our company at our customer location in Wellford, SC. Key Responsibilities Daily Operations & Maintenance Execute site-specific SOPs for robotic operations Diagnose and resolve robot errors using training and tools Relocate malfunctioning robots to maintenance zones if needed Inspect and report damage to floors, joints, and barcodes Log issues, take photos, and document abnormal behavior Wear required PPE and follow all safety protocols Keep the active field clean and hazard-free (e.g., remove fallen inventory) Customer Relations & Support Serve as the main point-of-contact with customer warehouse staff Build and maintain positive relationships with customer teams Provide on-site customer training on robotic systems and operations Address customer questions and concerns in a professional manner Follow up on customer needs and ensure satisfaction with robotic solutions Technical Support & Escalation Work collaboratively with software and technical support staff in the USA and China Use support ticketing system for out-of-scope issues and escalations Communicate technical issues clearly to remote support teams Implement solutions provided by engineering teams Document and share learnings with the broader technician team New Customer Implementations Assist with new customer site implementations and system deployments Support installation teams during robot setup and commissioning Provide initial customer training during system rollouts Help ensure smooth transitions from implementation to ongoing operations Emergency Response Respond to emergency calls and urgent system issues Provide rapid troubleshooting and resolution for critical downtime situations Maintain readiness for after-hours and weekend emergency support when needed Requirements Location & Travel Ability to work on-site in Wellford, SC M-F Travel up to 10% to other customer locations as needed Valid U.S. driver’s license required Technical Experience 2+ years of experience in electro-mechanical, robotics, automotive, electronics, or similar technical field Strong abilities in diagnosing, repairing, and documenting technical issues Experience with software and hardware troubleshooting Familiarity with robotics, automation, or wireless networks a plus Experience with MaintainX, Jira, or similar documentation tools is a plus Communication & Customer Service Excellent communication and documentation skills Professional demeanor for customer-facing interactions Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical warehouse staff Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Experience providing training or instruction to others preferred Physical Requirements Ability to lift 70 lbs and spend extended periods on your feet Comfortable working in warehouse environments Ability to work in various weather conditions when traveling between sites Work Schedule Monday-Friday, regular full-time hours Emergency response responsibilities for critical system issues Flexibility for occasional after-hours or weekend emergency calls Additional Qualifications Prior warehouse experience is helpful but not required Technical certification or vocational training in related field preferred Customer service experience in technical or industrial settings a plus Benefits We value our team members and offer meaningful benefits: Employer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance plans to support your health and wellbeing Dedicated vacation and sick leave that allows you to recharge and take care of yourself when needed Invaluable hands-on experience with cutting-edge robotics technology that keeps your skills at the industry forefront A collaborative culture where innovation thrives and your work has a real impact The excitement of contributing to transformative technology in a fast-growing industry Prime Robotics is proud to be an EEOE, M/F/D/V, and we are committed to diversity both in practice and spirit at the corporate level.
