Survey Crew Chief Position Available In Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region, Connecticut

Survey Crew Chief RCL Thompson LLC Clinton, CT 06413 RCL Thompson is a civil engineering and land surveying firm. We are looking for a survey crew chief to work under the direction of a licensed land surveyor.

Must be able to:

1) Perform surveys solo utilizing a robotic total station and GPS unit. 2) Hold a valid drivers license. 3) Operate in harsh conditions in all weather (thick brush and woods, wetlands, construction sites). 4) Must be legally allowed to work in the United States.

DUTIES:

• Operate and oversee the accurate operation by survey crew members of a robotic total station, survey grade GPS rover and base, shallow water echo sounder, and survey data collector.
• Direct the efforts of a survey crew member in order to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate collection of field data and placement of pins, monuments, and construction layout hubs and stakes.
• Perform resections, intersections, line and point staking, offset staking, and understand how to calculate arcs, curves, and bearing transformations.
• Find property corners based on metes and bound information on legal descriptions and record maps.
