About the

Role:

As a Survey Crew Chief, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading field survey operations for civil engineering projects. You will oversee and guide a dedicated survey crew to ensure precise and efficient data collection, supporting the successful completion of projects that shape our community. From conducting boundary and topographic surveys to collaborating with engineers and clients, your expertise will drive the quality and accuracy of our work. This position offers a blend of leadership, technical challenges, and the opportunity to innovate within the field of surveying.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Lead daily operations of a field survey crew, ensuring timely, accurate completion of assignments. Perform a variety of surveys, including boundary, topographic, construction staking, and as-built surveys. Operate and maintain advanced survey equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and data collectors. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and CAD designers to meet project needs and exceed client expectations. Train, mentor, and supervise survey crew members, fostering a professional and positive team environment. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, legal requirements, and project-specific guidelines. Stay up-to-date on the latest surveying technologies and recommend process improvements.

What We’re Looking For:

Five (5)+ years of field survey experience, with two (2)+ years in a leadership role. Proficiency with

GPS/GNSS

systems, robotic total stations, and data collection software. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is preferred. Florida Licensed Surveyor in Training (STI) or Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) strongly preferred. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Strong understanding of boundary law, topographic mapping, and construction layout principles. Why Join the Team?
