Summary:
A growing surveying and engineering consulting firm is looking for a dependable Rodman with hands-on experience in construction and topographic surveying to join a two-person field crew. This role primarily supports projects across Florida for federal and county clients, with occasional travel to locations such as Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. It’s a strong opportunity to join a well-established, expanding team with clear potential for long-term growth.
Responsibilities:
Assist Crew Chief with setting up and operating survey equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS units, levels) Hold and position the survey rod or prism pole for measurements Drive stakes or hubs into the ground for marking elevations, boundaries, or grading points. Mark boundaries, grade stakes, and reference points on construction sites Collect and record field data used for topographic maps, site layouts, and construction planning Follow project-specific instructions and maintain awareness of surroundings on active job sites
Qualifications:
6+ months of relevant experience in land surveying OR bilingual with experience performing field work in an outdoors environment Bilingual (English/Spanish) – Preferred Willingness and ability to work outdoors for extended periods in the heat Level-headed, dependable, and easy to work with Good standing with driving record Travel with crew to local and out-of-state projects (travel typically planned 4-6 weeks in advance)
