Pierce, Florida; Mobile and Decatur, Alabama; and New Orleans, Louisiana. Since 2004, SurvTech has provided surveying, mapping and geophysical services throughout the Southeastern US. We have an immediate need for a DOT Project Surveyor -PSM The DOT Project Surveyor – PSM will be responsible for the oversight, coordination, and execution of DOT-compliant survey projects. This role includes project management, QA/QC, client communication, and supervision of field and office staff. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of FDOT standards, roadway design survey practices, and the ability to lead a project from scope development through final deliverables.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee DOT transportation survey projects from start to finish Supervise and review the preparation of right-of-way maps, topographic surveys, control surveys, and 3D models Ensure compliance with FDOT Surveying and Mapping procedures and specifications Coordinate field crew activities and scheduling Perform QA/QC checks on field data, computations, and deliverables Serve as the primary point of contact with DOT clients and engineering partners Assist with proposals, project scoping, and cost estimating Maintain all necessary professional licensure and continuing education

Qualifications Required:

Active Florida PSM (Professional Surveyor and Mapper) license Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation-related surveying projects Strong knowledge of FDOT standards, CADD workflows, and Surveying & Mapping Handbook Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, Trimble Business Center, and/or Civil 3D Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred:

Experience leading SUE, hydrographic, and LiDAR-based survey projects Prior project management or client-facing experience with FDOT Districts Familiarity with digital deliverables including 3D BIM/DTM models Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering/survey firm Benefits
