JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented OSP Fiber Surveyor to support our growing network infrastructure projects across the Florida Panhandle. This full-time role is predominantly local, with occasional regional travel. You will be responsible for field surveys that support fiber design, permitting, and construction activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently outdoors, gathering accurate field data, and coordinating with design and construction teams to support successful project execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct field surveys for aerial and underground fiber optic routes. Capture accurate data including GPS coordinates, utility pole details, right-of-way access, and existing infrastructure conditions. Identify and document potential obstacles and permitting requirements. Create field sketches and complete survey documentation to support engineering/design teams. Coordinate with internal teams to communicate field conditions and recommend routing alternatives as needed. Use survey and data collection tools (iPads, GIS apps, measuring wheels, range finders, etc.). Follow all safety and quality standards while working in varied outdoor environments. Occasionally support limited travel for regional projects, as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training in telecom or GIS is a plus. 1+ year of experience in fiber surveying, telecom fieldwork, or construction layout preferred. Strong understanding of aerial and underground telecom construction methods. Familiarity with utility pole infrastructure, permitting processes, and ROW challenges. Proficiency with GPS, mapping tools, and field data collection apps. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills. Ability to work independently in various outdoor conditions.
